About Me

Hi everyone! My name is Ka Kang Yung, but most people call me Alex. I moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia from Hong Kong in 2021, and I’m grateful to call this beautiful and friendly city my new home. I’m also a proud father of two wonderful sons, aged eleven and seven, who love living in Canada and enjoy the kindness of people here.

In my free time, I enjoy watching soccer matches, which is one of my favourite ways to relax. I also love travelling, especially to Japan, where I’m always inspired by its culture and creativity.

Mission

To become a skilled programmer who builds creative, practical, and user-friendly solutions — combining my passion for technology with my dedication to helping people.

Skills

I have developed a range of technical and professional skills through both my studies and work experience. I’m familiar with Python, HTML, CSS, and Microsoft Access, which help me build and organize digital solutions effectively. In addition, my background as a clerical officer and room attendant has strengthened my customer service, data entry, and teamwork abilities. These experiences have taught me to stay organized, communicate well, and focus on accuracy — skills that I now apply to my programming and IT learning journey.

Education & Experience

I have always enjoyed Math and Science, especially Physics, and earned good results in high school. After completing a Higher Diploma in Accountancy, I worked as an Assistant Clerical Officer in the Hong Kong Government. Since moving to Canada, I’ve worked at The Sutton Place Hotel and now study IT Programming at NSCC.
